About Me

Jay Wright
Owner/Creator of Jay's Musik Blog

Hello! Thanks for checking out my "About Me" page! I am a total music junkie... or "musik" as I prefer to spell it. :)

If the title of the site doesn't give it away, my name is Jay Wright, and I am a Christian from Upstate New York. I got hooked onto Christian music several years ago when I became a huge fan of Kutless rock. Before then, I only had a handful of CDs, mostly Rebecca St. James and Steven Curtis Chapman albums. A few years ago, Air1 Radio showed up in New York, and I discovered a ton of new artists, and I tried to keep up with them all. Almost daily I began looking up news and songs by new artists, as well as the famous ones I heard on the radio. That’s where my huge love of Christian music sprang up, and I decided to begin this site for those like me who want to know what’s going on in the Christian music world. And though my "favorites" list changes daily, my current favorite artists are Sixteen Cities, The City Harmonic, Beckah Shae, Aaron Shust, Red, Icon For Hire, Anthem Lights, and definitely plenty more!

In addition to music, however, my hobbies and interests vary greatly. In addition to writing for this site, and in my spare time for NRT, I also have a Tumblr blog, and am currently working on a short novel called Until The Full Day. I love to play the piano and sing (the main reason I love bands/artists such as Aaron Shust, Anthem Lights, and Avalon!), plus I am a total Facebook addict! I love motocross riding (I do wear my helmet MOST of the time!) and walking through my backyard forest. I'm not a crazy book reader, but I love to read on occasion. Pilgrim's Progress is currently my favorite book besides the Bible, plus I am a big fan of John Bevere and Lee Strobel, both of which are eye opening, down-to-earth authors. I love learning new things about God’s Word, especially when He shows me something that I’ve always wondered. I study Christian apologetics as well, which would be my second passion next to Christian music. If I’m not doing any of these, I’m probably either at church, on my computer playing an arcade game ( I LOVE Diner Dash! :D), getting something to eat, or out running errands! :)

Basically, I’m an average young guy who is big into the “entertainment” industry (although I think this “entertainment” needs to be for the glory of God). You can keep up with me here at this blog and on twitter @jaysmusikblog. As always, I love to hear from readers, and you can email jay@jaysmusikblog anytime with your questions or comments!

Huh... guess I should have checked this page out before! I learned alot about you in my shear boredom. :P

I didn't know that you write! That's really cool...

you mentioned alot of non-fiction. Do you like to read fiction?

Ted Dekker is my favorite author. :)

Non-fiction wise I love the J.R. Briggs book "when God says jump" I've read it five times now and will start again in the Summer. It's an amazing book.

Glad you found something to cure your boredom, Bleah! :) I don't read a ton, but when I do read, it's not usually fiction. I do love Pilgrim's Progress, and I'd love to read The Shack as well, but I haven't yet.

Hi Jay

I share the similar passion, grew up listening to Christian music and sometimes I get to sing infront of many people.

I just wanted to find out who's the actual composer for - you hold me now, Robert pierre or Hillsongs?

I'm a writer too. I published my ebook on kindle and smashwords recently and hoping that it will be a a success

I'm on twitter to @EveUK2509

Well have fun and God bless

Thanks for stopping by! Praying God uses your works to bless many.

As far as your question about "You Hold Me Now," it was actually written by Reuben Morgan and Matt Crocker from Hillsong. Great song! Love both versions very much. :)

God bless,
Jay
