Movie Review Friday: The Widow's Might

It's time for another Movie Review Friday, the time when I bring you a review of a family friendly film that I have recently had the privilege of watching, and think you will enjoy as well. This week's film is The Widow's Might!

In The Widow's Might, two close friends, John and Cameron, are currently making films in hopes of winning the American Viewfinder Film Festival. Their dreams take off, but when they discover that an elderly widow, Mrs. Jackson, is in danger of losing her home due to the high property taxes, their plans change. These two friends, along with their family, join to make a musical western to explain Mrs. Jackson's predicament. Many unexpected twists come along, but in the end, perseverance is the key topic.

I highly enjoyed The Widow's Might, and would definitely say this is a favorite film of mine. There is much humor in this film, most of which stemmed from John's little brother Gator, the eye-patched kid who tends to be a little too outgoing. There is also much suspense, as a certain newscaster seeks to undermine the project of these teenagers and cause them to lose the award they are fighting so hard for. There is also plenty of good music, as parts of the musical are shown as they were supposed to have been shooting them.

Besides the humor, and great storyline, I loved the Christian message, and the credit that goes to homeschoolers in this film. The filmakers themselves were homeschooled, but as they played homeschooled kids in the film, they showed that homeschooled kids can do more than they are usually credited for, which I thought was rather cool. I also enjoyed the wide variety of settings and actors -- the whole film was amazing!

The Widow's Might is a perfect film! Winner of two awards, this film has a great Christian message, awesome actors, an enthralling storyline, and is perfect altogether. I definitely recommend that you check out The Widow's Might as soon as possible!
